من منا لم يسمع عن لغة جافا للبرمجه فهذه الغه اصبحت الأن على لسان كل من له علاقة بعالم الكمبيوتر من قريب او بعيد وخلال العام الماضي نما عدد مطوري جافا في المنطقه العربيه حسب مصادر صن مايكروسيستمز في الشرق الأوسط الضعف ليصل الى خمسة الأف مبرمج من25000 مبرمج فقط في العام السابق وعلى المستوى العالمي نما عدد المطورين الى مليون ونصف تقريبا ً في حين نما عدد التطبيقات المعتمده على جافا الى 12000 تطبيق كما تم تضمين الدعم لجافا في نظم التشغيل الرئيسيه مثل ويندوز بكافة اصداراته ونتوير والينوكس وتتميز هذه الغه بلتطور السريع فعندما ظهرت جافا اول مره في عام 95 كانت تتكون من 200 واجهه مختلفه لتطور التطبيقات واضافة الى عدد من الملاحق واليوم وصل عدد واجهات تطوير التطبيقات في جافا الى 1600 وما زالت الى الأان في طور التطوير ....
ابتكرها جيمس جوزلينج في عام 1992 أثناء عمله في مختبرات شركة صن ميكروسيستمز وذلك لاستخدامها بمثابة العقل المفكر المستخدم لتشغيل الأجهزة التطبيقية الذكية مثل التيلفزيون التفاعلي وقد كانت لغة الجافا تطويرا للغة السي بلاس بلاس
تتميز لغة الجافا بمميزات خاصة مما يجعلها أكثر لغات البرمجة إثارة حيث تمكننا من إضافة الحركة والصوت إلى صفحات الويب كتابة الألعاب والبرامج المساعدة إنشاء برامج ذات واجهة مستخدم رسومية تصميم برمجيات تستفيد من كل مميزات الأنترنت توفر لغة الجافا بيئة تفاعلية عبر الشبكة العنكبوتية وبالتالي تستعمل لكتابة برامج تعليمية للإنترنت عبر برمجيات المحاكاة الحاسوبية للتجارب العلمية وبرمجيات الفصول الافتراضية للتعليم الإلكتروني والتعليم عن بعد. لا تنحصر فاعلية الجافا في الشبكة العنكبوتية فقط بل تمكننا من إنشاء برامج للاستعمال الشخصي والمهني،وتتصف لغة الجافا بالصفات التالية:
OOP لغة برمجية تعمل بواسطة الأهداف -1
JVM لها بيئة تشغيل خاصة بها -2
Class Libraries لها مكتبة فصائل -3
تعمل على معظم نظم التشغيل -4


لغة تلتزم بقواعد البرمجة بواسطة الأهداف Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
حيث وفرت كثير من الجهد الذي كان يبذل باستخدام البرمجة التقليدية ، حيث كانت البرمجة التقليدية توفر للمبرمج مكتبة من الدوال إضافة إلى تركيب تقليدي للبرنامج وعلى المبرمج أن يستعمل الدوال مع تركيب البرنامج لإنشاء التطبيقات مما يضطره لكتابة السطور الكثيرة أكثر من مرة ؛ لقد كانت وحدة بناء البرنامج هي الدالة .. في حين أتت البرمجة بواسطة الأهداف بفكرة جديدة هي إنشاء عناصر متكاملة تحتوي على بيانات ودوالي هي أساس إنشاء البرنامج .. وبالتالي أصبحت وحدة بناء البرنامج وحدة كبيرة هي الفصيلة أو العنصر Object مما سهل واختصر الكثير .
لها مكتبة فصائل قوية Class Libraries :نظراً لأن لغة جافا تعتمد على مفهومOOP فهي تحتوي على مكتبة فصائل قوية توفر معظم أو كل الفصائل المطلوبة للإعمال مثل التعامل مع الملفات وقواعد البيانات والشبكات و الرسومات المجسمة والحركة وكذلك التعامل مع الإنترنت .

بيئة التشغيل “JVM”
الحروف JVM اختصار للعبارة JAVA Virtual Machine , وهي فكرة قامت جافا بإنشائها لتجعل لغة جافا تعمل على جميع معظم أنظمة التشغيل . وتقوم الفكرة على إنشاء طبقة وسيطة Software كأنها برنامج تشغيل للبرامج RunTime لكل نظام تشغيل يتم إنزاله أولاً على الأجهزة بحيث تفهم هي برامج جافا وتفسرها لنظام التشغيل ثم الجهاز ولهذا كان من مزايا لغة جافا أنها تعمل على كثير من نظم التشغيل الموجودة بعد إعداد JVM الخاصة بمعظم أنظمة التشغيل .. فلا يهم إذا كان البرنامج مكتوب لنظام التشغيل WINDOWS أو UNIX المهم أن البرنامج يكتب ثم يحمل إلى الجهاز وعلى الجهاز يوجد JVM للنظام الموجود وبالتالي يعمل البرنامج .
Java Applet
نوع من أنواع التطبيقات الذي صمم خصيصاً للإنترنت حيث يقوم المطوّر بإعداد هذا البرنامج Applet ثم يستدعيه من خلال إستخدام ملف HTML بشرط تحميل برنامج Applet على الخادم server الموجود عليه ملف الـHTML أما طريقة إنشاء Applet وطريقة إستدعائها من داخل ملف HTML فهذا ما سنتعلمه إن شاء الله خلال الدروس القادمة .
تطبيق الجافا Java Application
هو تطبيق يشبه التطبيقات المنشأة بجميع لغات البرمجة الأخرى يعمل مع نظام التشغيل بعيداً عن شبكة الإنترنت والمشهور عن لغة جافا أنها تعدّ برامج للإنترنت ولكن غير المشهور أيضاً أنها توفر كثير من نقاط القوة في إعداد أي تطبيق سواء مكتبي DISKTOP أو خاص بالشبكات CLIENTSERVER

Java SE
الإصدار القياسي من الجافا بالإنجليزية (Java Standard Edition) هو الجزء الخاص ببرمجة برامج سطح المكتب (StandAlone applications)

Java EE
اصدار الإنتربرايس بالإنجليزية (Java Enterprise Edition)هو يختلف عن الإصدار القياسي في أنه خاص ببرمجة الخوادم والتطبيقات الموزعة وبرمجة الويب

Java ME
اصدار المايكرو بالإنجليزية (Java Micro Edition) وهو اصدار خاص بالرمجة على الهواتف المحمولة والأجهزة المحدودة في المصادر عموما وتعتبر الخيار الأول لمبرمجي ألعاب الهواتف المحمولة

Education
GIS is the geographic display of both natural environmental and man-made features of an area, as well as data (attributes) associated with these features. Thus maps created by a GIS show locations ( such as the location of county facilities or all the homes in a subdivision) and information about these locations ( such as the type and quantity of specific services each facility provides or they property valuations of subdivision homes).
Information used in a GIS can come from a variety of sources, including in-house databases, purchased databases ( such as census data), data in word processing programs, and maps of virtually any theme.
In the public sector a GIS can greatly increase productivity and eliminate duplication – and thereby deplete fewer scarce resources. And it tremendously assists decision-making in a way that is not otherwise possible.
Generally, there are four primary uses for a GIS.
1. Strictly as a presentation tool, a GIS shows the spatial patterns of information. For example, for a business occupying multiple floors or multiple buildings, a GIS can show who has what kind of computer in seconds by the touch of a button.

2. It allows you to query databases, organize and show the data geographically, and manipulate / analyze the data. In the public sector, for example, once you know the valuations of property, you can have the GIS display all houses in a certain area valued at less than 80% or greater than 120% of all houses with specific characteristics.

3. A GIS cannot only query a database, but because of its analysis capabilities, it can aid in your planning and decision making process like no other tool.

4. It can be used by businesses and government agencies to determine the minimum path or best route to get from point A to point B.
Equally as important, this display and analysis of data offers users greater productivity and time savings, which in turn provides cost savings.

MapInfo Corporation, initially incorporated as Navigational Technologies Incorporated, was a leading Location Intelligence and GIS company, Headquartered in North Greenbush, New York. It was acquired on April 19, 2007 by Pitney Bowes, and on January 28, 2009, the name of division of Pitney Bowes it had become was changed to Pitney Bowes Business Insight. MapInfo grew quickly, appearing at number 23 in Inc. Magazine's annual list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. in 1992, and holding an initial public offering (IPO) in 1994. Its products included a desk-top mapping application, various map and demographic data products, and some web-based applications. It acquired several other companies in order to market their software, data, or services directly.

GIS History and future:
Overview

Information has always been the cornerstone of effective decisions. Spatial information is particularly complex as it requires two descriptors—Where is What. For thousands of years the link between the two descriptors has been the traditional, manually drafted map involving pens, rub-on shading, rulers, planimeters, dot grids, and acetate sheets. Its historical use was for navigation through unfamiliar terrain and seas, emphasizing the accurate location of physical features.

More recently, analysis of mapped data has become an important part of understanding and managing geographic space. This new perspective marks a turning point in the use of maps from one emphasizing physical description of geographic space, to one of interpreting mapped data, combining map layers and finally, to spatially characterizing and communicating complex spatial relationships. This movement from “where is what” (descriptive) to "so what and why" (prescriptive) has set the stage for entirely new geospatial concepts and tools.

Since the 1960's, the decision-making process has become increasingly quantitative, and mathematical models have become commonplace. Prior to the computerized map, most spatial analyses were severely limited by their manual processing procedures. The computer has provided the means for both efficient handling of voluminous data and effective spatial analysis capabilities. From this perspective, all geographic information systems are rooted in the digital nature of the computerized map.

The coining of the term Geographic Information Systems reinforces this movement from maps as images to mapped data. In fact, information is GIS's middle name. Of course, there have been other, more descriptive definitions of the acronym, such as "Gee It's Stupid," or "Guessing Is Simpler," or my personal favorite, "Guaranteed Income Stream."
